The mission of the Institute for Social Justice is to build knowledge about social justice, to develop skills for advancing social justice through individual and collective action, and to serve as a catalyst for actualizing BSU's commitment to social justice.

Our vision is to empower people to build the fair and equitable communities of the future, with a special focus on forming students to be change agents. We aspire to become a national model for public universities to articulate a social justice mission and pursue a robust social justice agenda.
