Greetings Graduating Seniors

LGCIE’s 26th Annual Kente Cloth Ceremony is an experience where LGCIE award stoles to graduating BSU students to wear at their graduation ceremony! This joyful event is open and accessible to all graduating BSU students, their families/supporters and members of the BSU community. Reception immediately following the ceremony, courtesy of the African American Alumni Association and LGCIE in the RSU Ballroom.



Important Details:

Arrival Time for Participants: 4:30 PM at DMF 120 Auditorium for processional lineup.
Ceremony Start Time: 6:00 PM at RSU Auditorium. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM.
Post-Ceremony Reception: Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments in the RSU Grand Ballroom.

Guest Information:

Each participant may invite up to two guests. Tickets can be picked up from the LGCIE office in RSU Room 101 between April 21st and April 25th.
Guests include both children and adults. Please inform your guests that we can only accommodate two persons per graduate.
If you need special accommodations (e.g., wheelchair access, food allergies), please indicate this on the provided form.
No noise makers or balloons are allowed inside the venue.
About the Kente Cloth Ceremony:

Members of the Afro-American Alumni Association will adorn students with a stole after remarks from invited speakers. Following the ceremony, all participants are welcome to the reception for complimentary refreshments. Those who sign up to join the ceremony, we look forward to seeing you on Friday, May 9th at 4:30 PM in the assembly area of DMF 120 Auditorium.
