Hello everyone!
 

I miss you all already as I become accustomed to this new role on campus. I wanted to reach out to let you all know that BSU is again sponsoring a service trip to Cambodia this January. This year we will be focused on clean water work AND traditional Cambodian shadow puppetry! You’ll have the opportunity to learn how to make the puppets, training in performing with them, and opportunities to engage with nearby communities. Additionally, we will visit the temple complexes at Angkor Wat (one of the most incredible places I’ve ever seen), and we will have students from PUC (Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia) joining us on all of our adventures and translating as needed.

I’d love to have theatre students on this trip, so apply early and think more about what you can learn from this trip rather than what you can teach others. Applications are due October 9 and are open to all students. There will only be 7 or 8 students on the trip, so it is a competitive application with multiple reviewers.

Please reach out with any questions. This is one of the very few BSU study abroad opportunities that is only $500 for everything. If you think you may have trouble affording that much but want to apply, contact me, and we can discuss further.
