Got Questions

On Wednesday January 17th and Thursday January 18th, you should be on the lookout for our “Got Questions” staff and student volunteers at various stations around campus! They are there to help you find where you need to be, answer general questions, and provide an overall welcoming face and support.

Upcoming LGCIE Uno Tournament

Are you a fan of UNO? The LGCIE Center is hosting a UNO Tournament that will take place Monday, January 29th and Monday, February 5th, with the championship on Monday February 12th. The tournament will take place at the LGCIE center from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on each day.

Fun Fact: There will be two winners and both will receive Flex dollars!

Event Highlight - Study Abroad Fair

The Study Abroad Fair is your introduction to all the study abroad programs that BSU has to offer! Talk to program representatives, learn about scholarships, enter a raffle, and have fun learning about all the places you can go and what you can do once you're there. We have more than 200 programs in over 50 countries around the world, including the USA through National Student Exchange!

The Spring 2024 will be held in the Dunn Conference Room, located in Crimson Hall, on Wednesday, January 24th from 11am to 2pm.

Start of Semester Good to Knows

• The spring 2024 deadlines to add, drop, or withdraw from classes can be found here.
• Due to Massachusetts law, each student is charged for the University's health insurance plan. If you get your health insurance elsewhere, you are able to waive this charge for a limited time. You will need to waive it each year. To access the waiver or enrollment form, please click here.
• BSU offers payment plans if you have an outstanding balance for spring 2024. Click here for more information. 
• Applications are open now for parking decals for the 2023-2024 academic year! For more information, click here. 
• You can view a full list of parking lots available on campus here. 

Advising Reminders

Add/Drop Advising in the Academic Achievement Center

Advisors in the Academic Achievement Center (AAC) will be available for virtual drop-in advising from January 16th-24th to help with schedule questions or adjustments. When advisors are available, the link to drop-in is live on their Bridgenet page here- Click here for AAC Advising.

Advising Assignments 

You can check your Student Profile on InfoBear to see who your assigned academic advisor is and their contact information.

For students who will be assigned to an Academic Achievement Center advisor, those assignements will happen after January 24th and your advisor will be reaching out to you directly to welcome you to BSU. 

We encourage you to reach out to your assigned academic advisor early and often for questions on academic planning, courses, majors, and more! 

Are you a first-time college student? Don't forget about the Introduction to Advising course requirement! Introduction to Advising is a brief online course that covers the basics of advising and campus resources at BSU. It should only take 30-60 minutes to finish. ​​​You complete the required Introduction to Advising course on Blackboard.

MLK Day of Service

The Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice (MRISJ) is excited to host BSU's 20th annual MLK Day of Service from 9:00-2:30pm on Saturday, January 20th!

We are excited to offer 8 service projects to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dedication to service, community and civic engagement. Volunteer capacity is limited by service location, so sign up now to secure your place! All are welcome to sign up!

Upcoming MRISJ Blood Drive

MRISJ is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a community blood drive here at BSU on Tuesday, February 13th! Appointments are available from 12-5pm in Dunn Conference Suite and all are welcome to sign up - including first time blood donors.
