About Us
The Bridgewater Collegiate Investors have three core purposes: knowledge, real-world experience, and networking with fellow students and finance professionals. It was created for Bridgewater State Students with a passion for finance and investing to master concepts such as economics, security analysis, and portfolio management. The group will meet weekly to discuss various topics such as market and sector trends, investment opportunities, and global financial news. Group members will be a wealth of knowledge by adding value to each meeting with one of the following: technical investment strategy, a term of the day or excerpt from educational literature. Members of the Bridgewater Collegiate Investors will also be given the opportunity to participate in events such as guest speakers and trips to financial institutions with the purpose of gaining real-world exposure as well as networking opportunities. Members of the Bridgewater Collegiate Investors must be highly motivated, willing to learn and have a passion for the world of finance. The group of students will work together to maintain several stock portfolios on simulated real-time markets on Investopedia.com. This will be the primary focus of the organization, all students will work together and collaboratively develop investment strategies and exploit market opportunities. The group is encouraged to work closely together in the decision making process. What drives the group to success is pushing one another to go the extra step and complete stock analysis before securing a market position. Students must be critical of one another to ensure professionalism is optimized. Students are also encouraged to maintain their own stock portfolios and share with the group different techniques they used and what result it has produced.
