About Us

The Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) works cross-divisionally and collaboratively with all campus constituencies to enhance campus climate. OID collaborates with campus members in implementing data-informed programs and initiatives to help meet goals focused on diversity, equity, and the elimination of achievement and opportunity gaps to further Bridgewater State University's mission of inclusive excellence. The engaging notions of Identity Development and Intersectionality guide OID's work in institutional diversity and equity. BSU's definition of diversity encompasses multiple identities and societal factors. It is important to know how these factors can influence each individual's life experiences. While there are multiple definitions associated with identity development, the intention of OID is to provide educational and practical methods to expand on what it means to be a member of a diverse community.
