Mi Futuro (My Future) Dinner and Career Dialogue is open to all students and campus community. Dialogue will explore how national immigration policies impact students' safety, identity, and academic experience, followed by a career-focused dialogue offering practical strategies to help students pursue their futures with confidence and resilience. Sponsored by SSED, the Latin Student Alliance (LSA), LGCIE and Community Health & Prevention.

Panelists will feature Javier Juarez, Director of the Latino Equity Fund for the Boston Foundation; Zaida Ismatul Oliva, Executive Director of the Chica Project; and other local and regional leaders.

Latine heritage dinner menu: stew chicken, roast pork, tofu, potato salad, rice, beans, plantains, empanadas, seasonal veggies, salad, tres leche cake, and vegan-gluten chocolate cake.

Javier understands from first-hand experience the systemic challenges faced by Latinos in Massachusetts, and he has played vital roles in successful campaigns to address those challenges.  He is a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College, and holds a master’s degree from Brown University in American Studies. A frequent speaker and organizer on topics related to immigration policy and DACA, Juarez is a first-generation immigrant from Peru.
