Good morning friends and fellow rock-hounds,
First off, our next meeting is Tuesday, November 5th at 5pm. As the title of the email suggests, we are hosting an Uno tournament in the Geo Lounge. You will be broken up into small groups and the winner of each group will go on to compete against each other. There will be prizes ...
Second on my agenda is ... please register for Excursions in Geology (GEOL 300) if you haven't already! Excursions is a travel-based geology course that hasn't run since before Covid. The class meets on Fridays to discuss the geology and geologic history of the selected area and then over spring break, we get to spend the week there! Trips in the past have brought students to national parks in California, volcanoes in Hawaii, ancient formations in Mexico, and much more! Rumour has it that Iceland may be an option this year. For us seniors, this is our last chance to go on a trip. So please, just register. This is not a hard and fast committment. You are not expected to pay for the trip now. But if the class doesn't have enough people, the school will cancel it.
And as a reminder ... please keep our space clean, accepting, and respectful. And any questions, comments, or concerns you may have, you are always welcome to email myself or another officer.
With sincerity and warm wishes,
Lily Traver
