Introduction to BSU's Wellness Center

Located in Weygand Hall, our Wellness Center enhances the learning environment of BSU through a wide range of programs and services focused on the health and well-being of all students.

Counseling Services

We are a diverse group of licensed clinicians offering individual, couples and group counseling, as well as other services related to mental health. Our clinicians provide crisis intervention, assessment, short-term individual counseling and referrals as needed for all BSU students. As part of our work, we recognize and appreciate the unique needs and concerns of various groups on campus, including racial/ethnic minority students, LGBTQ+ students, international students, veterans, transfer students, first generation college students, along with many other identities. Our goal is to address, support and resolve mental health concerns so students can make the most of their educational experiences at BSU.

Counseling Services Resources

TogetherAll

At BSU, we know that our BSU Bears need all kinds of support, which is why we have chosen to partner with a company providing virtual peer-to-peer mental health and wellbeing support: Togetherall.

Togetherall's online community is clinically moderated by mental health professionals and offers students a safe and anonymous place to express their thoughts, concerns, and triumphs. Students are able to draw strength and insights from peers that have real lived experiences, as well as access a range of self-directed, clinically validated tools to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.

WellTrack

WellTrack is a self-guided and interactive way to manage a student's mental wellbeing & it is available to all BSU students for free. It can help students to understand their feelings of stress, anxiety, and/or depression, and teach them techniques to minimize these feelings.

Your student can register for an account by downloading the WellTrack app on the AppStore or GooglePlay and register using their @student.bridgew.edu email address. This service is also available on the web at bridgew.welltrack.com.

uWill

The BSU Wellness Center is excited to partner with UWill, the leading mental health and wellness solution for colleges and students, to provide free access to teletherapy. Students have an immediate, secure, and convenient way to receive online-based counseling services should the need arise.

To access this resource, your student will need to use their BSU credentials to sign in to the UWill portal where they'll be able to connect with a clinician based on several preferences and schedule availability.

As with all our Wellness Center support, there is no cost to use this service. All actively enrolled BSU Students are provided 90 teletherapy credits. If your student uses all of these credits then they may be eligible to receive additional credits as part of a pool of shared UWill credits. These credits are distributed automatically based on availability/supply; your student does not need to make any requests to access these credits. Video, phone, chat and message-based therapy options will all be available to them.

Health Promotion

Health Promotion empowers students, groups, and student organizations to make informed decisions and to take meaningful action regarding their health and wellness by providing evidence-based education, inclusive resources, and non-judgmental support to reduce negative, and increase positive, health-related behavior.

MyStudentBody Online Alcohol and Drug Education Program

One of our highlight programs is MyStudentBody Essentials. This comprehensive, evidence-based prevention program is designed to reduce the risks of drug and alcohol abuse among college students.

Your student will receive an email outlining the process for completing this required online program.

BSU CampusWell

Once they register for courses, your student can access their mandatory Student Health Form via their account on the Health Services Patient Portal. They log in using your BSU credentials.

Students will not be able to complete the online forms until after registering for classes. Immunizations are due within 30 days of registering for classes.

A full list of required immunizations can be found on the Health Services website.

Health Insurance Requirements

All registered students taking nine or more undergraduate credits, or seven or more graduate credits must provide proof of enrollment in a medical insurance plan that meets the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' mandated guidelines (laws) or be automatically enrolled in a college-sponsored plan.

Bridgewater's student health insurance is provided by University Health Plans and is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Elect Preferred (PPO). The plan provides coverage for illnesses and injuries that occur on and off campus and includes special cost-saving features to keep the coverage as affordable as possible.

For premium pricing, please see the link below. The policy is in effect from Aug. 1 until July 31 each year. Students who have comprehensive health insurance can remove this fee from their bills by electronically waiving the insurance (see the description below) by the deadline of Sept. 30 (for each fall semester) and by Feb. 28 (for those who not enrolled in the fall). The waiver must be submitted each year. See the requirements for international students.

To access the Bridgewater State University Sponsored Student Health Insurance or submit the waiver (proof of enrollment in one's own or one's parents' policy for the academic year), visit the University Health Plans website. Students who enroll in the school sponsored plan must confirm payment with Student Accounts.
