Student Organizations

There are over 60 established student organizations and club sports at BSU! No matter what your student is interested in, there is sure to be a group here for them. And just in case they can't find one, they can always start their own!

Student organizations are typically structured around common interests in sports, hobbies, academic discipline, culture, community service and other special interests, like the ones listed below.

  • Academic

    These organizations focus on an academic program or field of study. They serve as a place of community for students interested in or connected furthering their academic interests. This category includes some of BSU's Honors Societies.

  • Advocacy & Service

    These organizations are focused on advocating, raising awareness and/or fundraising for a specific cause, organization, service group, or charity. This may include politically focused organizations.

  • Affinity

    These organizations serve a membership with a shared identity.

  • Hobbies

    These organizations focus on a particular hobby or interest among members. They work to provide opportunities to the campus community to learn more about their area of interest.

  • Fraternity & Sorority Life

    These are values-based social organizations that are dedicated to the lifetime bond of brotherhood and sisterhood, while providing a space to gather and share common interests. Each organization strives to promote excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, and friendship.

  • Media

    These organizations are focused on student generated media production. This includes our student-run newspaper and radio station.

  • Multicultural

    These organizations focus on developing deeper understanding of their specific culture and promote broader understanding of these cultures within our community.

  • Performance

    These organizations work to develop the performance skills of their members and work to share their talents with the broader BSU community. These groups include multiple types and styles of performance. These organizations may require auditions as part of membership.

  • Professional

    These organizations are focused on professional development and networking. They are often affiliated with a national organization and may require membership dues.

  • Spiritual

    These organizations are focused on spiritual or religious belief-based conversations and experiences.
