Mission Our mission is to provide a comfortable, safe, and inclusive space for the Black student body that attend Bridgewater State University. Being a Black student at a PWI can feel very stifling, since looking around, you will barely see anyone that looks like you, and this results in a lot of the Black population at this school to either feel like they must be hidden, or to straight up transfer because the lack of diversity is too much. During the duration of my time here, I have had and have heard people have many uncomfortable racial experiences, such as being the only black person in their class, feeling silenced or feeling isolated, and worst of all, not thinking they have a place on campus due to how stifling it is to be culturally nonexistent in a school. This organization is determined to help Black students find their place, find their people, and find a home away from home. We will provide spaces of discussion and of joy, a place for black people to be surrounded by our own, to exist, to enjoy, and to unite!
